For Future Generations

For Future Generations is a researched based project focusing specifically on the documentation of and understanding of plastic pollution found at Emerald Beach, Lake Eire, Buffalo NY. From 2016 to present day I have visited the beach to create a collection of over 130 hours of visual, physical, and written data which will be transformed into a retrospective body of work.

I have long admired our planet and its ability to thrive, provide, and inspire. As a child I can remember growing up in natural spaces without constant trash and plastic pollution. For Future Generations has opened the doors to a collaboration with & sharing of information with The Alliance of the Great Lakes, The creation of an open petition with the City of Buffalo, the opportunity to give lectures based on my findings and what I have learned as well as the launch of a grassroots community movment called #PlasticFreeBuffalo. My goal is to raise awareness, promote lifestyle changes, and to transform Plastic Pollution - which bothers me to the core into works of art.

Only within the moment of time represented by the present century has one species -- man -- acquired significant power to alter the nature of the world.
